On the hour, the dial dramatically drops down as shown on the right. Small colorful lights flash and figures rotate. An opening melody is played and then one of of six Hi-Fi melodies will play: Memory; The Phantom of the Opera; I Could Have Danced All Night; America; The Sound of Music; Tonight.
 When the clock is closed and not playing its hourly animation, there is a pendulum with two genuine faceted Swarovski crystals swinging back and forth.
